Older woman and younger woman chatting Age Concern Norfolk helps a wide variety of people such as the following lady through its befriending service Active Together:

Mrs B has macular degeneration and is unable to read. Mrs B's Active Together volunteer visits her weekly to read through all her mail with her. This has allowed Mrs B to maintain her independence and means that she does not have to rely so heavily on her daughter to go through her correspondence when she comes to visit. Now when Mrs B's daughter visits they are able to spend quality time together.

Active Together has also introduced talking books to Mrs B. Mrs B is now a huge fan - she says "The books have made such a difference to the quality of my life because they keep my mind occupied. They also help to fill the quiet space in my home, now that I have been widowed. It has been a life saver."

Age Concern Norfolk needs funds to keep this service going. Any donation that you could make would be valued and appreciated. Donate now
